I love finding ways to save money. Some stores make it easier than others. CVS is the store where I’m able to save the most money. Keep reading to find out my 5 tips for scoring big CVS savings.
With 9,600 stores in the United States, there’s a good chance you have a CVS near you, unless you live in Wyoming. That’s the only state without any CVS stores. I’m lucky enough to have a CVS right across the street. I visit it frequently and have found some great ways to save money there.
5 Tips for CVS Savings
#1 – Use the CVS circular to find the week’s deals.
When I tell people CVS is the store where I’m able to save the most money, they often reply that CVS is more expensive than other drug stores. Their regular prices may be higher than some other stores, but they offer some great deals in their weekly circulars. As you’re flipping through the weekly circular, keep your eyes open for buy one, get one free deals, extrabucks rewards, and instant coupons.
#2 – Sign up for an ExtraCare Card.
Before you shop at CVS, you need to get an ExtraCare Card. Without an ExtraCare Card, you won’t get any of the weekly deals. Plus, all of the special coupons get sent to your card, so you need one to get the most savings. CVS even emails you coupons that you can load directly to your card. I get a 30% off coupon about once a month.
#3 – Earn Extrabucks.
Extrabucks are one of my favorite ways to get CVS savings. They work just like cash. Once you buy the items to earn extrabucks, they will print out at the register when you checkout. Now, CVS offers digital receipts. The extrabucks are emailed to you with your receipt. Just click on the button to send the extrabucks to your ExtraCare card.
#4 – Use Coupons and the Online App.
CVS accepts manufacturer’s coupons, and they have their own coupons. To print the CVS coupons, go to the coupon kiosk in the store, and scan your ExtraCare Card. The coupons will print automatically. You can also load the coupons onto your card using the CVS app. Download it onto your phone, and you’ll be able to benefit from special app-only savings, too.
#5 – Layer Your Savings.
One of the best ways to get CVS savings is by using all of these tips together. Find a deal in the weekly circular. Then, look for coupons for the item. You can use a CVS percentage off coupon, a manufacturer’s coupon, and a regular CVS coupon for one item. Then, if you have extrabucks, you will save even more money. When you’re done shopping at CVS, be sure to check the bottom of your receipt to see how much you’ve saved. I usually save 60% or 70% on each CVS shopping trip. It takes a little time to find the deals, but it’s well worth it.
