Need a spring craft idea for the kids? Then look no further, this super cute folded paper flower craft is so easy to make. They also look really effective when you display a number of them all together.
Hello, it’s Sam here from A Happy Home In Holland and I’m happy to be back here again at A Beautiful Budget life to share another budget friendly idea.
When looking for crafts to do with your kids, if you are anything like me, you will tend to want simple ideas that you can make using materials that you already have at home. In our house we always have a basic craft supply which includes sheets of colored paper.
I actually got the idea from my daughter who brought one home from school. She had enjoyed making them so much at school that she wanted to carry on making them again when she got home from school.
How To Make Folded Paper Tulip Flowers
- Colored Squares Of Paper
- Wooden Skewers
- Sticky Tape
1. Gather your materials.
2. Lay your paper flat and fold it once from corner to corner. Press the crease firmly down.
3. Then fold one of the corners up as shown below.
4. Repeat with the opposite corner.
5. Now turn your paper over and attach a wooden skewer to the back of your flower with some sticky tape.
Displaying Your Paper Tulips
At school, the children had displayed them in upside down egg cartons that were painted green.
We didn’t have an egg box, so we improvised a bit with an old mandarin orange box. We added some polystyrene and topped it with some decorative grass.
My daughter then went on to make a beautiful job of decorating her crate. She used her felt tips to decorate the crate and stuck on some burlap material and heart stickers.
It’s also a cute idea to make mini versions of these. You just need smaller squares of paper which you can stick onto toothpicks instead of wooden skewers.
She enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves to make the most of the little things in life.
